With its delicate texture and sweet taste, it is a favorite among both children and adults. If you want to elevate your maja blanca game and create a special version that will impress your family and friends, follow these simple steps to make a special maja blanca.

Ingredients

To make a special maja blanca, you will need the following ingredients:

– 2 cups of glutinous rice (malagkit)
– 4 cups of coconut milk
– 1 can (13.5 oz) of evaporated milk
– 1 cup of sugar
– 1/2 cup of condensed milk
– 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
– 1/4 cup of water
– 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
– 1/4 teaspoon of salt
– Food coloring (optional)
– Edible glitter (optional)
– Fresh fruits (optional) for garnish

Instructions

1. Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain and set aside.

2. In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the rinsed glutinous rice and cook for about 20-25 minutes or until the rice is tender. Drain and set aside.

3. In a separate pot, combine the coconut milk, evaporated milk, sugar, and condensed milk. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved.

4. In a small bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and water together until well combined. Add the flour mixture to the coconut milk mixture, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming.

5. Continue to cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and reaches the desired consistency. This should take about 10-15 minutes.

6. Once the mixture is thick, remove it from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to achieve your desired color.

7. Add the cooked glutinous rice to the mixture and stir until well combined. If you want to add edible glitter, sprinkle it in at this stage.

8. Transfer the mixture to a serving dish and let it cool in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until it sets.

9. Before serving, garnish with fresh fruits of your choice, such as sliced mangoes, strawberries, or kiwi.

Now you have a special maja blanca that is sure to delight everyone who tries it. Enjoy your homemade treat and make it a memorable part of your next celebration!
