How to see shared OneDrive files in File Explorer

OneDrive is a popular cloud storage service that allows users to store, sync, and share files across multiple devices. If you have shared files with others or have received shared files from them, you might want to easily access these files directly from your File Explorer. In this article, we will guide you through the steps to see shared OneDrive files in File Explorer on Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Step 1: Open File Explorer

First, open File Explorer on your Windows computer. You can do this by clicking on the File Explorer icon on the taskbar, or by pressing the Windows key + E on your keyboard.

Step 2: Navigate to OneDrive

Once File Explorer is open, you will see a list of folders on the left-hand side. Scroll down and click on the “OneDrive” folder. This will display all the files and folders that you have stored in your OneDrive account.

Step 3: Enable “Show all folders” option

By default, File Explorer may only show the files and folders that you have recently accessed or added to OneDrive. To see all shared files, you need to enable the “Show all folders” option. To do this, click on the “View” tab at the top of the File Explorer window, and then click on “Options” in the ribbon.

Step 4: Go to the “View” tab

In the Folder Options window, click on the “View” tab. Here, you will find various options to customize the appearance and behavior of File Explorer.

Step 5: Enable “Show hidden files, folders, and drives” option

Under the “Advanced settings” section, scroll down and find the “Hidden files and folders” option. Check the box next to “Show hidden files, folders, and drives.” This will ensure that all shared files, including hidden ones, are visible in File Explorer.

Step 6: Click “Apply” and “OK”

After enabling the “Show hidden files, folders, and drives” option, click “Apply” and then “OK” to save the changes.

Step 7: Access shared files

Now, go back to File Explorer and navigate to the “OneDrive” folder. You should see all the shared files, including those shared with you and those you have shared with others. You can now easily access and manage these files just like any other files on your computer.

By following these simple steps, you can easily see shared OneDrive files in File Explorer on your Windows computer. This will help you stay organized and access your shared files without any hassle.
