Next, trim the stems and tips of the okra pods. Use a sharp knife to cut off the stem end of each pod, and then cut off the tip, which is usually a little harder and less desirable in texture. Be sure to discard the stems and tips, as they are not suitable for freezing.

After trimming, you have a few options for preparing the okra for freezing. The most common method is to blanch the okra, which helps to preserve its color and texture. Before sealing the bags or containers, remove as much air as possible to prevent freezer burn. Label the bags or containers with the date and the contents for easy identification later on.
